It’s a whole new game at IMG Academies Golf & Country Club at El Conquistador.

Nestled within a bay front showcase of natural wonders, IMGA Golf & CC is a place of inspiration where people and nature peacefully coexist; where single family homes, villas and condominiums are carefully sprinkled among the pines and caressed by Gulf breezes.  IMGA Golf & CC is an unhurried place where golf is played and good times are shared without disturbing the natural beauty of this extraordinary setting.  It is perhaps the best-kept secret in southwest Florida.

IMG Academies (IMGA) purchased what was formerly the El Conquistador Country Club in 2005.  IMGA is the pioneer in the camp/academy training business.  From its inception in 1978 as the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy, it has evolved into a 300-acre multi-sport training and education, camp and academy, club/resort/real estate development.  No program has ever produced as many professional athletes or placed as many high school graduates into college as has IMGA.  Rich in history of creating champions across an array of sports including tennis, golf, soccer, baseball, basketball and swimming, IMGA trains its golf prodigies on this 18-hole championship layout.  IMGA Golf and CC’s challenging, sporty and perpetually interesting course has trained top players including Paula Creamer, Casey Wittenberg, David Gossett, Ty Tryon, Sean O’Hair, Aree and Naree Song Wongluekiet, Virada Nirapathpongporn, and Michelle Wie.  
IMG Academies will continue to invest in the Club to meet the requirements of the changing social, family and business needs of our membership.  At your disposal are meeting rooms, private dining rooms with panoramic views of beautiful Sarasota Bay, casual dining areas, card rooms, conversation areas, an active social calendar and one of the most challenging golf courses in the area.

Now Members can enjoy a new level of excitement as they watch the up-and-coming phenoms from world renowned IMG Academies’ David Leadbetter Golf Academy, as well as current PGA and LPGA professionals, as they hone their skills on IMG Academies Golf & Country Club course. The next generation of collegiate and professional stars is training today at IMG Academies Golf & Country Club at El Conquistador. 

IMGA Golf & CC is located in southwest Bradenton, only minutes from Sarasota Bradenton International Airport, Gulf Coast white sand beaches, theatres and a host of cultural activities just 15 minutes south in downtown Sarasota.

Full Membership

Your Full Membership includes full use and privileges of all golf facilities. Member pays no green fees. Member may choose to own a private cart, pay an annual cart lease, or pay a daily cart fee. Walking is permitted at no charge. Full members may book a tee time 14 days in advance and participate in all local club reciprocal arrangements. Members receive reduced fee and unlimited guest privileges. Member may also enjoy the clubhouse, dining and involvement and all social activities. Privileges shall extend to the member, member’s spouse and dependent children under the age of 21. Our Full membership is also available with Corporate terms.

Associate Membership

Your Associate Membership is available to those under the age of 55 (based on the oldest family member) and includes full use and privileges of all golf facilities. Member pays minimal green fees. Member may choose to pay an annual cart lease, pay a daily cart or walking fee. Associate members may book a tee time 10 days in advance and participate in all local club reciprocal arrangements. Members receive reduced fee and unlimited guest privileges. Member may also enjoy the clubhouse, dining and involvement and all social activities. Privileges shall extend to the member, member’s spouse and dependent children under the age of 21. Our Associate membership is also available with Summer terms.

Young Professional Membership

Your Young Professional Membership is available to those under the age of 40 (based on the oldest family member) and includes full use and privileges of all golf facilities. Member pays reduced green fees and a daily cart or walking fee. Young Professional members may book a tee time 7 days in advance and participate in all local club reciprocal arrangements. Members receive reduced fee and unlimited guest privileges. Member may also enjoy the clubhouse, dining and involvement and all social activities. Privileges shall extend to the member, member’s spouse and dependent children under the age of 21.

Social Membership

Your Social Membership includes full use and privileges of all golf facilities. Member and member’s guests may play golf by paying the prevailing non-member fees. Social members may book a tee time 4 days in advance. Member may also enjoy the clubhouse, dining and involvement and all social activities. Privileges shall extend to the member, member’s spouse and dependent children under the age of 21.

The natural beauty of IMG Academies Golf & Country Club at El Conquistador is both rivaled and complimented by a great golf experience.  Members, as well as current and future PGA and LPGA stars, can all improve their skills on the Club’s 18-hole championship layout.  It is a true test for low handicap players, and also eminently playable for higher handicappers who consider it extremely fair, spacious and interesting.   

Opened in 1972 and chartered in 1980 as a private country club, the original course was a 6,673-yard, par 72 layout.  Slender pines, majestic oaks and native foliage along with scenic lakes, provide the setting for a fun, enjoyable course set amidst natural Florida Habitat. 

Following a $2.5 million renovation by renowned golf architect Gene Bates of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, the “new” IMGA Golf & CC reopened in 2003 as the region’s most playable, scenic and technically advanced golf course.  The course has been lengthened to 6,855 yards from the back tees, and the routing of Nos. 10 and 18 was reversed, resulting in a spectacular “island” green for No. 10 and an all-around “new course feel” for our Members.  The grass is a state-of-the-art hybrid developed specifically for southern courses.  TifEagle was planted on greens and TifSport on the fairways, tees and rough.  These thicker, denser grasses can be cut shorter and allow the golf ball to “sit up” better.  The renovation project also included replacement of the irrigation-drainage system with additional lush landscaping, rebuilt sand traps and a larger practice facility.  

We offer regularly scheduled men’s and ladies’ play, and thanks to our enthusiastic membership, the IMGA Golf & CC enjoys one of the most active groups of golf associations in the area.  

The course provides a rewarding golf experience at every level.  Impeccably maintained year-round, IMGA Golf & CC course continuously attracts those who demand the finest playing conditions.  We are proud to be the home-course of IMG Academies’ David Leadbetter Golf Academy.

THE CLUBHOUSE

Our spectacular clubhouse, with stunning, wide open views of Sarasota Bay, includes the Riviera Room for fine dining, the Grille Room with a bar for casual enjoyment, and is designed for entertaining family and friends.  Both the formal and casual settings serve as an inviting backdrop for a variety of social functions and special dining opportunities.  Our award winning staff takes pride in serving exceptional full-course dinners and specialty buffets, as well as simpler fare for lighter appetites.  Social functions are planned throughout the year covering a variety of interests from bridge, fashion shows, theatre excursions and more.
